It's kind of everything under the sun? It can be as specific or as spastic as you want it to be. Mine (http://ronspigwidgeon.tumblr.com/) is a mix of Supernatural, Doctor Who, random other fandoms, Feminism, writing, pictures of cats, and things that make me giggle.

What exactly do you do on it though? What's the purpose of it? Is it just a place to post pictures?

Um... well... It's not really something I can articulate? I think that's sort of like asking what you do on livejournal. It's basically just another form of livejournal, but it's much faster and to comment on other peoples' posts, you reblog them.
